"Surveillance Ain't Safety," a phrase coined by Tawana Petty over a decade ago, weaves throughout this workshop, making connections between disaster capitalism, racial capitalism and surveillance capitalism to paint a clear picture of how the trio of trauma is still quietly remaking the Motor City, even as the global narrative touts a "comeback."
